Our Vision
When we started Small Town Bookkeeping, our goal was to bring our years of experience of helping BIG small businesses grow and use those same tools and techniques to help SMALL small businesses flourish. The need is great, as many small businesses fail in the first few years. We want to change that.
Our Team
Matthew VanderMeer
Matthew took his love for numbers into a new career path 15 years ago when he hired on as a bookkeeper for a startup that was part of a larger family group of business owners. His passion and abilities showed through as after a few years he was took over the financial side of each of the other family business. Going back to school he got his MBA with a specialization in accounting. He is now the Controller of the family group that is continuing to expand and grow. He started Small Town Books to help small businesses have the same access to his skills and insights.
Diane Lefers
Diane started with Small Town Books in 2023 after returning to school later in life to earn her Bookkeeping Certificate. Matthew reached out to Diane, his sister, to help with some clients and began teaching her the day to day work. Diane now handles most of the daily work along with helping out with projects as needed. Diane is a great communicator and looks forward to helping our clients grow their businesses.
